Description:
Academically this is designed to be a post-secondary level preparation for higher study at some future time. In the workforce, the Certificate is to be seen as being at least on a par to a completed sixth form education in the area of science and a suitable preparation for laboratory and technical assistants.

Programme structure:
- Any 10 credits from Pre-foundation and/or Foundation level sub-degree courses
- 20 credits from S111 and S112.

CE040 A French Primer
(CE020 and CE010 are an excluded combination)

Foundation Level:

CE150 Information Technology Applications
CE160 Business Management Fundamentals
CE162 Managing Quality
S111 A Foundation in Physics and Chemistry
S112 A Foundation in Biology and Earth Sciences.

* Chinese language medium course.

Entrance qualifications: Generally no formal academic or vocational prerequisites apply for adults to enrol on sub-degree programmes. Students generally need only fulfil the following requirements: students must be over 17, have a Hong Kong identity card and a Hong Kong address.

Media and methods employed: Printed text, tutorial support.

Administrative information:
On successful completion of this 30 credit programme, students will be awarded the Certificate in Foundation Studies (Science).
